From 1948 to 1965, Daniel and Margaret Hogan & their six children called this white house home. In the small, close-knit community Willoughby was then, the very personal, faith-based kindnesses of Mr. and Mrs. Hogan touched many lives. He was especially known for sponsoring amateur athletic teams and guiding and assisting young men on the teams who were struggling with personal, family, and financial issues.
Today, Tikvah Home for Men is a place of Hope, Healing and Restoration where four men grow in their recovery. This growth involves accountability, healthy relationship building, financial responsibility and respectful living. The ultimate goal is to become a productive citizen.
Friends of Recovery NE Ohio has been extremely busy since the last newsletter. We are happy to announce the acquisition of our first recovery home. Located in the heart of Willoughby, Ohio, this 5,000 sqft house, known as Tikvah Home for Men, is currently under renovation and planned to open in the Spring 2017.
The Winter Newsletter shared we were actively pursuing a home in the heart of Painesville for our men’s home. Unfortunately, we were unable to negotiate an acceptable deal with the sellers. However, we are actively pursuing additional properties in and around Painesville as of this printing. If you would like to help us reach our goal of $70,000, we only have $12,000 left! Our campaign started February 1, 2016 and has been extended to the end of 2016. A private donor has offered to match any and ALL donations received up to $20,000 dollars.
