Arukah Home for Women

A place of healing and restoration.

Arukah” is a Hebrew word meaning complete healing or restoration, including physical, mental, and spiritual. The Arukah Home for Women renovation project began June 1, 2019, and was completed in October 2020.

Built in 1914 — Renovated 2020

(4) Bedrooms and (2) Baths

Large 3-season front porch

Maximum number of residents: (4) adults

This house was once a private residence and dental office combination.  A local dentist had his offices in downtown Willoughby as well as Arukah.  One of our staff at Friends of Recovery NE Ohio had her wisdom teeth removed many years ago in what is now the Arukah office.  Today, Arukah is a women’s recovery home: a place where women learn how to live life without drugs or alcohol.  A recovery community walks alongside them as they grow in their recovery.  A whopping 4,050 volunteer hours went into making Arukah a home before it opened in September 2020.
